3 GSP launch the first Webcasting service combining VOIP and PSTN in the same session.

Akcento is a project conducted by the videoconferencing specialists 3-GSP, and the communication and public affairs agency Dialogic. At the European SME Research and Innovation Conference held at La Hulpe in late November, these two companies joined forces for a global first which marks a significant stage in the development of the interpreting profession. With its application and its individual interpreting booths, Akcento offers a whole new way of delivering and using interpreting services: getting one interpreter who lives in Beijing and another located in Mumbai to work together on an event taking place in Brussels is now possible! That’s good news for interpreters, who are in many cases tired of spending their lives in planes and airports.

And it’s also good news for companies and institutions which are weary of being invoiced for their interpreters’ transport and accommodation costs, as there are considerable savings in terms of time, money and efficiency for all parties involved.

Akcento is a precious new tool for conference organisers, as they can not only use it to put together their interpreting teams, but also activate it to significantly increase the audience for their events. Thanks to the multilingual webcast facility offered by Akcento, it is now possible to broadcast a conference live on the Internet, with direct and simple access to the different languages interpreted: just click on the language’s flag to access the ad hoc interpretation. It’s so easy for “e-participants” to join an event remotely in this way, with a price and environmental impact that are both attractively low.

Akcento also amounts to a godsend for businesses of all sizes, as it makes interpreting services much more accessible, especially for SMEs active on distant markets.

Thousands of franchising professionals gathered for the IFA Annual Convention in San Diego for the Convention. 3GSP presented the videoconferencing and the webcasting for the meeting between managers of the IFA. Further project were discussed about offering the tool and resources to support educational, networking and entertainment events.

1. From an operational point of view : Share screening

We have developed our own share screening tool which is much simpler and efficient than the last one.

It enables to keep an eye on the video and to share the presentation space with all the participants. They may then use their mouse pointer to show an element or write down comments on the shared screen. The moderator can allow an invitee to share his/her screen with him/her.

2. From an ergonomic point of view From the beginning our first goal is to enable you to organize a meeting smoothly with no technical disturbances to interrupt it. To date we can be proud to have set up a service with a very high level of availability and reliability. Our goal was to go a step further by anticipating some behaviors or events that could disturb meetings to go smoothly.

Calling back function :

When a participant hangs up the phone during a meeting, voluntarily or not (making a false move, phone battery low…), this one is automatically invited (popup) to join the meeting at a number of his/her own choice.

An invitee can also (from his/her screen) choose to direct the calling to his/her own phone (arriving late, partial participation to a meeting).

To these new applications we can add the browser refresh without losing the context (F5 or refresh in case of losing the access to internet) and assisted meeting mode (second room and assistant role) in order to ensure optimal performance meetings.
